Brendan Mitchell carried out Auctioneer Training at Sothebys for many years, training and mentoring many novice Auctioneers, many of whom have now firmly established themselves as leaders in the industry, as well as having the pleasure of working with many established Auctioneers. In addition to these skills the ability to entertain a room full of people is a pre-requisite to the role of Auctioneer. Brendan is available to share his expertise in auctioneer training and provides bespoke packages to equip individuals with all of these requirements. Training can be provided on a one to one basis or why not provide employees with group training sessions with role play interaction. Brendan enjoys working with novice auctioneers and with those with more experience in order to fulfill and maximise their auctioneering potential.
Whist working with Sotheby's, Brendan also had the pleasure of providing auctioneering advice to Seymour Matthews, the actor who played the Auctioneer in Only Fools and Horses' 'Time on our Hands' episode and also had the opportunity of 'playing' Chief Sales Clerk during filming inside Sotheby's. You can see him in the clip above at 0:55 in the clip. Brendan was called upon again to provide auctioneering advice to James Fox who starred in the film 'Mickey Blue Eyes' with Hugh Grant.
